We will miss you Grandpa!

1928 ~ 2009

Joseph Richard "J.R." Judd, our beloved husband, dad, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully following complications from heart surgery on March 5th, 2009. He was surrounded by loving family who didn't want to say goodbye, but knew the arms of our eternal Heavenly Father and family who had passed before were waiting for his return. He was born April 14th, 1928 in Panguitch, UT to Reed Smoot Judd and Sylvia Arvilla Linford. He married Alice Eleanor Lee Oct. 9, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple.
He moved his family from Cedar City, UT to Lander, WY where he retired from US Steel in 1984. He and Miss Ellie moved to Sun City, AZ in 2004. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, where he served faithfully in many callings, including Bishop and Stake Executive Secretary.
J.R. is survived by his wife of 59 years, daughters, Jill (Dave) Fuller, Phoenix, AZ; LeeAnn (Mike) Seat, Vancouver, WA; son, Matt (Susan) Judd, Lehi, UT; sister, Judy Garner; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter, MaryLou, grandson Scott; two sisters, Eloise Heap and Minnie Lou Beckstrom, and two brothers who died in childhood.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Peoria North Stake Center. Additional services will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Panguitch 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will follow in the Panguitch Cemetery.
