I, like most people, sometimes forget what is truly important. T.V.'s, computers, cars, furniture, etc, seem fun, but only bring temporary happiness.
What's really important to you? What do you value? You show others what's most important to you by the choices you make, the things you buy, the places you go, the way you dress, what you watch and what you listen to. Everything about us tells others what's important to us. We show the world around us what we value in a hundred different ways. And sometimes, honestly, what we value makes us look funny. Why would anyone want a laptop rather than a roof over his head? Why would another put more importance on their own happiness rather than obedience to God? Why do we do what we do, buy what we buy and spend our time the way we do? It's because of what we value (worship). When I put the Lord first, as most important, then my life lines up in a wonderful way, but when I don't it just looks funny. It doesn't seem right. What are your important things?
My important things:
- Our Father in heaven and His son Jesus Christ
- The gospel
- My family
- My friends
- Chocolate

So was this post for me or what? Ha ha, but really thanks for the eye opener. I have been ranting and raving about my hair...so I guess that shows what is important to me eh?
Nicole,
Actually it was about me and my thoughts lately. I had to write it to remind myself that material things are going to make me happy. Seriously...sometimes I feel like if I just had this, or that, my life would be easier. Sometimes I need a reminder that I actually am blessed and have more than a lot of people. Not just material things, but family, friends, etc.
I think we all need to be reminded of our priorities and thank you for that. I needed a dose of reality. Thank you for sharing that with me!!
Abbey - you are so insightful - I need to be more like you!!
