Caution: Gross

Hunter came to me tonight complaining of an ear ache. My kids have never had an ear infections, so I wasn't sure what the symptoms were. I decided to put hydrogen peroxide in his ear. (we do this every once in a while, because it cleans your ears really well) After a lot of bubbling and chunks of wax floating to the top (I warned you it was gross) I figured his ear just needed a cleaning, that's why it was hurting him. Then all of a sudden a huge......thing came floating up. After I got it out i realized it was some sort of rock or stick.

Me: "Hunter! Did you put a rock in your ear hunny?"
Hunter: "No" (timidly)
Me: "Hunter, tell the truth"
Hunter: "Well it was a bug"
Me: "This is not a bug Hunter!"
Hunter "No, bugs put rocks in your ear"
Me: "Hunter please tell me the truth, I won't get mad."
Hunter: "Well, I was scratching my ear" (apparently with the rock?)
Me: *Laugh* "thanks for telling the truth"

I couldn't quite pinpoint when it happened. It happed sometime before he got sick (last Thursday) and after Christmas. That narrows it down! I hope it wasn't in there too long.

Reminds me of a little girl I once had who had something even bigger than that in her ear!! I love having children with children! I'm so glad he is alright. You know, a pirate, such as Hunter, needs to scratch with
a stick sometimes!

Ha ha great well now all I can say is start to check his nose too.
Be glad you don’t have girls... one of my cousins got a pink sponge curler stuck in her ear... She could not get it out because it had expanded and was coming out in pieces sooo they took her to the Doc and the Dr had a hard time taking it out.

I feel queasy now. And ditto on the hydrogen peroxide. I'm going to try that with my kids tomorrow. :)
